Lungwani T.M. Muungo is a trained and qualified pharmacist from Robert Gordon University, United Kingdom, currently registered on the ‘Specialist Register under the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ). He has undertaken both academic and professional major advancements of pharmaceutical science and technology - “Pharmaceutist” (Pharmacist specialist title with PhD qualifications from the field of pharmaceutics). He has been involved in designing the foundation and implementation strategies of the localized training of pharmacists at University of Zambia (UNZA) in Zambia through the formulation of both undergraduate and postgraduate training curricula, and as a ‘Founding Head’ of Pharmacy Department, School of Medicine for UNZA and also professional leadership through the initiation of formal professional mentorship (internship training) and PSZ presidency in 2005 to 2006 term. Active member of International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) African Centre of Excellence (FIP-AcPS) in pharmaceutical education and training developmental standards. He has participated actively in the moderation of knowledge learning of pharmacy within the defined areas of African region (Malawi, Namibia, Botswana, Uganda, and Ghana).He has continued to participate in formal training, orientation and mentoring of both undergraduate and postgraduate pharmaceutical trainees. Active participant in the initiation of postgraduate training in Clinical pharmacy and generation of clinical knowledge and research ideas for the postgraduate pharmacist trainees.
