Dr Joyce Mufungwe joined the Department of Animal Science in July 2016 as an Animal Nutritionist. Previously she worked as a Veterinary Doctor in Zambia National Service (ZNS) for 12 years. She left ZNS on early retirement after obtaining her PhD and immediately joined the University as a Lecturer and Researcher. Her research interests include improving the nutrition of ruminants using locally available feed resources by use of crop residues, fodder trees and shrubs and the impact of diet choice on greenhouse gas emissions. As a Veterinarian, farm animal health and welfare are always at the heart of her profession.
