Francis Simui

• Simui Francis is a Canon Collins Trust/Chevening Alumni, who successfully completed his Doctoral studies at the University of Zambia in 2018. He is a member of EENET’s Steering Group comprising of professionals and academicians in Inclusive Education with representatives worldwide. He is a serving Executive Secretary for Canon Collins Trust Zambia Alumni. In addition, he has vast experience working with civil society organizations focused on education in Zambia. His areas of specialization include: (i) developing and managing an effective Open and Distance Education system; (ii) developing and managing an effective inclusive education system; and (iii) designing monitoring and evaluation systems. Currently, he works for the University of Zambia under the Institute of Distance Education (IDE) as Head of Department, Programmes Development & Production as well as Lecturer of Special/Inclusive Education. In addition, Francis is a Board Chairperson for Roygeo Christian School as well as Board Member for Mulumbo Trust Foundation. At international scene, Francis has been actively engaged in international conferences, colloquiums, and workshops. Among his accomplishments, Francis boasts of having won the prestigious “Postgraduate Team Working Award”, in 2007, courtesy of PricewaterhouseCoopers in collaboration with the University of Manchester. Francis won the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) award, as the best research presenter during the Open and Distance Learning Colloquium in March, 2010, Gaborone, Botswana. Most recently, Francis was honoured by the University of Zambia as an outstanding performer and dedicated to duty and full of innovation during the 2013 Labour awards.
