Public Relations

Our public relations staff serves as a liaison between the institution and the outside world, developing captivating narratives that highlight our accomplishments and contributions to society. The section manages media relations, organises university events such as graduations, and responds to any issues in a proactive manner, guaranteeing open communication that fosters trust and promotes the institution's image.

The Unit is responsible for advising University Management on Public Relations issues, both internal and external. Other functions include guiding the Institution in Fairs and all matters pertaining to public events and publicity. 

Purpose of Department

To promote and protect the University of Zambia’s image, integrity, and reputation and earn stakeholders’ goodwill through the dissemination of relevant information through various media.

Responsibility

Responsible for planning, monitoring, coordinating, and managing the University's Public Relations policy and issuing official statements on behalf of the University in liaison with Management, schools, units, and departments.

The Public Relations department is a vital department as it plays the management function of information dissemination to the University’s internal and external stakeholders to protect the integrity, reputation, and image of the institution of higher learning.
