Starting in the 2019 Academic year, the department is re-launching its 2 year Master of Science Degree programme which was suspended to allow for a restructuring the programme in order to bring it in line with contemporary geographical thought and education. The new programme seeks to produce graduates with advanced spatial skills and ability to address complex geographical problems facing human society today. These challenges include climate change, water scarcity and pollution, demographic changes, biodiversity loss and impacts of globalization. While retaining an integrated approach, students will be allowed to specialize in either physical or human geography. The programme will have two components, the taught component in year one and an independed research project in year 2. Major courses in the programme will include:
