Master of Laws (Taught)
The student must register for 5 courses. The following are the compulsory courses:
- Advanced Legal Skills
- Legal Reasoning and Argumentation
- Integrated Skills Projects
For specialization, a student has to select two other courses in addition to the compulsory courses.
a) Commercial Law
- Commercial Court Ligigation
- General Principles of Contract Drafting
b) Constitutional Law (select any two from the five (5) elective courses)
- Democratization and Politics in Africa
- Comparative Constitutional Law in Africa
- Elections and Electoral Systems in Africa
- African Human Rights Law
c) General LLM
- Any of the three(3) compulsory courses, and
- Any of the other two courses on offer
The applicants must possess
- A Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia or any other recognized University with a credit;
- A minimum of two years post qualifying professional experience; (an advantage); or
- a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Zambia or any other recognized university with a pass, and a minimum of 4 years of acceptable professional experience.
