The University of Zambia Library has emerged as the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐲 during the 2026 National Library Week commemorations.

The award was presented during the Official Opening Ceremony held today at Solwezi Provincial Library, where this year's National Library Week is being commemorated from 15th to 19th June 2026 under the theme:𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

The award was presented by the North-Western Provincial Education Officer, 𝐌𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐲𝐢, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary for Educational Services, 𝐃𝐫 𝐊𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐰𝐞.

This recognition is a testament to the dedication, creativity, and teamwork of the UNZA Library staff in showcasing how strategic partnerships, innovation, and community engagement can transform library services and contribute to national development.
