Biography

  • Bachelor of Science in Production Management, Copperbelt University, Zambia

Prof. Bupe Getrude Mutono-Mwanza is an Associate Professor in Sustainable Supply Chains and Circular Economy at the University of Zambia and currently serves as Acting Director of the Collaborative Research Hub for Multidisciplinary Advancement (CRHMA). She is also a Professor Extraordinarius at the University of South Africa. She has over a decade of experience in academic leadership, teaching, research and postgraduate supervision, with expertise in production and operations management, sustainable supply chains and circular economy transitions.

She holds a Ph.D. in Engineering Management from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa, a Master of Engineering in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe, and a Bachelor of Science in Production Management from Copperbelt University, Zambia. Her research interests include sustainable supply chains, circular business models, sustainable procurement, reverse logistics, waste valorisation, resource recovery, green logistics and circular economy.

Prof. Mutono-Mwanza has published extensively in international peer-reviewed journals and has contributed to books, book chapters and international conferences. She has also held various leadership and governance positions at the University of Zambia, including Associate Director at the Graduate School of Business, and has served on several University committees. Her work combines research, academic leadership, postgraduate supervision and public engagement to advance sustainable business practices and circular economy approaches.
