Fredrick Mudenda joined the University in 1997 as a Staff Development Fellow in the School. Fredrick was a beneficiary of a USAID Scholarship which enabled him persue an LL.M Programme at the Washington College of Law, American University, Washington DC. with a concentration on Trade and Investment Law, Environmental Law and Policy. Fredrick has taught a wide range of courses in the University, including Land Law, Environmental Law, Planning Law and Governance under the Masters of Science in Spatial planning programme in the School of Natural Sciences, International Trade and Investment Law, Intellectual Property Law, Employment Law, Labour Relations and Contract Law.
Fredrick holds a number of certificates including certificates in International and Comparative Environmental Law (Courtesy of fellowship from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research), International Trade Law, Postgraduate course (Courtesy of a fellowship from the University Institute of Europe Studies) and International Humanitarian Law (courtesy of fellowship from the International Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent).
Fredrick has held and served in a number of offices in the School and the University: Assistant Dean- Undergraduate, Assistant Dean - Research, Assistant Dean - Postgraduate, Head of the Private Law Department and is the immediate past Dean of the School. He has served as a Senator of the University over a period of time and acted as the University’s Honorary Legal Counsel, in the past.
In Public life Fredrick has served as Chairperson of the Land Tribunal; member of the Judicial Service Commission; member of the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education Council and as member of the Editorial Board of the Council of Law reporting.
Admitted to the Zambian Bar on 20th December 1995 Fredrick has combined the teaching and practice of Law.
