Biography

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Mineral Sciences (BMinSc) (UNZA)
  • Master of Mineral Sciences (MMinSc) (UNZA)

Webby Banda is a Lecturer and Assistant Dean (undergraduate) in the School of Mines at the University of Zambia (UNZA), Lusaka, Zambia. He holds a Bachelor of Mineral Sciences (B.Min.Sc) and a Master of Mineral Sciences (M.Min.Sc) degree. He lectures at undergraduate level in mine investment analysis, application of software’s in mining and mineral economics. He has 3 years of mining engineering experience spread across consulting and academia. He is a registered professional engineer and a member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ). He has published and presented several technical papers locally and internationally. His research interests include mineral taxation, mine financial valuation, fleet optimisation, drilling and blasting, mining method selection and design, mine investment analysis and multiple criteria decision making.
