A group of researchers from the University of Zambia developed four new types of beans.

Speaking in an interview with a representative of the researchers recently, Dr. K. Munyinda indicated that farmers are growing the new type of beans and they like the new varieties as they cook fast, rich in nutrients, resistant to insects, some are bigger in size while others have undergone some changes in color and morphological structure.

Some types mature fast and the reproduction rate is very high better than the parental beans from which they were mutated. The researchers confirmed that new beans is very safe for public consumption as they have been tested in the laboratory several times.
