Chinese New Year” party was held at Mary Queen of Peace School
MQP held the “Chinese New Year” party at on 13th February, Mrs.Bwalya, Deputy Head of the primary section, a few teachers and a bunch of students attended the function.
The activity shows how the Chinese New Year went on, it’s aiming at enriching the students spare time, spreading the culture and it also got much attention from the school’s faculties. Beginning with drawing realistic posters and providing traditional food asca well as dumplings have gotten their interests into festivity itself. Mr. Wang Wei the Chinese Lecturer chose several videos for the students which showed how Chinese New Year is celebrated. Finally, he fulfilled their desire to learn how to write Spring couplets.
The Deputy Head said, ”It felt so good to participate in the Chinese New Year Celebration, I am glad to see the pupils’ enthusiasm in learning Chinese. Wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year”. She gave her thoughtful opinion about the future of Chinese as a course, hoping that such activities should happen often at MQP, so that people can learn about other Countries.
According to this activity, Chinese culture, especially the new year’s traditions have been introduced widely, it could be a good example for organizing more events in the future at MQP.
